Review: Best Western Bangkok Hiptique Hotel

Best Western is the worlds largest hotel chain and operates at 80 countries, but does this small dark hotel stand up and deserve to be in that roster???! Join me as I share my amateur unbiased & no b*llsh*t review of this hotel (Best Western Bangkok Hiptique Hotel) were I stayed for 10 Days & 9 Nights.

This review was based on my own personal experience.

After downloading tons of travel booking apps (asiarooms, agoda, booking, hotels, expedia) and doing tons of mock bookings and include to that tons of rip off travel guide books I got from Cambodia, Ive finally found the hotel for this trip, I am not choosy when it comes to hotels but I try to check its reputation, its price, and a whole lot more; Yup, some of you will say if that's your thing then why Best Western Bangkok Hiptique Hotel its quite low in the ranks...

I was browsing at www.tripadvisor.com so as to check its ranking, WT* 230th of 711th hotels inside Bangkok, but the deal with www.asiarooms.com was really good and it was way lower than other travel sites and the price that they offered it was at the price range as if I was booking at a 2-3 star hotel so I booked it hoping that the rankings and review wont really haunt upon my arrival at the said hotel.

According to its site (bkkhiptiquehotel.com)

"BEST WESTERN Bangkok Hiptique Hotel is the first hiptique hotel in Thailand managed by BEST WESTERN International on Sukhumvit Road. Representing the marquee of BEST WESTERN International, its marvelous location sees the hotel offer convenient access to many Bangkok attractions. A modern Thai hotel of classic and contemporary style, the property is designed to meet the needs of individual travellers, tourists and top- to mid-level business executives, as well as international groups."

"The 50 guest rooms in the 8-storey building are sumptuously appointed and feature Thai, hip and contemporary designs. All guest rooms have been designed for luxurious relaxation and absolute comfort. Styled with exquisite fabrics and woods, the décor is a palette of rich, earthy tones. The basin, shower and bathtub (only in 15 Deluxe rooms) are features of the spacious bathroom. Of the 50 guest rooms, the categories are Hiptique Corner (5), Hiptique Deluxe (25) and Hiptique Superior (20)."

Ok lets start with this amateur review...

Flying out of the country (August 7, 2012) during the rains that made Manila down to its knees again was not the best idea, I paid a freaking PhP 1,400 for a van to bring me to the airport and imagine having a delayed flight for an hour and flying as if your riding a roller coaster (No exaggeration here, yep its the WORST flight I had after flying for the --th time), taxi ride was somewhat fast well its already 1:30 AM so no traffic, good thing I requested for the hotels address written in Thai since they are not too good on english.

Upon arrival I was immediately approached by the hotels security staff and help me with my luggages and assisted to the small elevator and asked me to go up the lobby reception at the 7th floor, checking in was swift (5 minutes & 13 seconds) and by the way they are really warm just ask the staffs from directions to favors for sure theyll happily try to help you out as much as possible, you can even ask the reception to give you more water for the refrigerator so you wont spend a single cent on water...

The design of the hotel was modern and the room that we booked was Deluxe twin which was nice and the size was ok, as for the cleanliness of the room, its a two thumbs up! Complimentary bottled water, cable LCD tv (with good english channels) & free stable wifi all throughout the hotel was really a plus for me and add to that a stable and fast one. BTW by far this hotel has the BEST bed (mattress, pillows, duvet, etc.) I had its really nice which was not too soft, not too hard and it uses down feathers! I manage to pull one sticking out and I was surprised that its really feathers that was used.

The BEST bed ever!

Complimentary breakfast buffet is being served daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, a combination of various dishes is being served and although some will be shocked to see dishes that resembles a  lunch menu (its also worth mentioning that the food was good and tasty), but you can order from the waiter ala carte style bacons, sausages and eggs for free! Fruits, jams, cereals, milk, coffee, powdered juice, salad, whole wheat bread and regular bread is always available at the small buffet table.

For my whole stay with them I must say I was really impressed for the variety of their hot dishes and not too mention the ala carte basis eat all you can bacon, sausage and eggs! A big plus point was also the waiters are quite attentive to their job.

Here are my breakfast plates! Sarap!!!

As for the location of the hotel, 8-10 minutes brisk walk from the nearest MRT station which was Asoke, alot of comments say that its quite far the road but I dont mind walking a bit since the area is really safe with all the lighting and vehicles passing the area even during wee hours.

Tuktuk service from the hotel to nearby spots of Sukhumvit is free! Yes, they can bring you to Asoke & Nana station or Terminal 21 mall!

Tips:
  • To lessen your walking and minimize the aching feet, go ride a tuktuk but you have to be firm when transacting, a typical payment I make with them is 20-30 THB for 2 persons already, and say to the driver "Sukhumvit Soi Sip Sam Best Western Hotel" or just get a calling card from the hotel written in Thai.
  • Try transacting with the hotel directly thru their FB page (Best Western Bangkok Hiptique Hotel), or their website, Ive learned this from Mr. Peter Carcar (Sales & Marketing Manager), that the next time I book with online booking sites try to haggle first directly with the hotel so thats quite a good assurance for a price match and an absolute assurance that this hotel can give competitive price match! Telll him I told you guys to directly contact him for some haggling.
  • Try to be nice with all the staffs inside the hotel, maintain your cool, it will be normal for a hotel to have its flaws, even the most expensive hotels are not perfect, be friendly and cheer up!
  • There is a nearby 7/11 if you want some drinks or quick foods.
Hotel: Best Western Bangkok Hiptique Hotel
Location: Sukhumvit Area, Bangkok, Thailand
Website: http://www.bkkhiptiquehotel.com/
Rooms: 50 rooms & suites
Star: 3.5 star
Wifi: Free for all guests
Pool: A small CUTE one!
Breakfast: Buffet for hot dishes, fruits, breads, and salads; Ala carte for bacon, sausages & eggs but you can order as long as you want to eat more.

My personal rating: 4.45 stars out of 5 being the highest

Warm staffs, quiet Sukhumvit area and greatly priced rooms.

Its a hidden gem inside Sukhumvit area that's worth to try out, just don't expect that you'll be seeing a hotel that has big spacious lobby and fancy decorations; come on guys be fair with them, instead think of a hotel that has unique dark interiors, warm staffs and best bang for the buck costs that can make your stay at Bangkok more enjoyable!

Boy Butet will definitely visit back this hotel!

Note: I paid for my stay at this hotel and no payment was receive as a form of its promotion and advertisement.

Cheers!

INTERNATIONAL CONCEPT OF WORK FROM HOME
Work from home theory is fast gaining popularity because of the freedom and flexibility that comes with it. Since one is not bound by fixed working hours, they can schedule their work at the time when they feel most productive and convenient to them. Women & Men benefit a lot from this concept of work since they can balance their home and work perfectly. People mostly find that in this situation, their productivity is higher and stress levels lower. Those who like isolation and a tranquil work environment also tend to prefer this way of working. Today, with the kind of communication networks available, millions of people worldwide are considering this option.

Women & Men who want to be independent but cannot afford to leave their responsibilities at home aside will benefit a lot from this concept of work. It makes it easier to maintain a healthy balance between home and work. The family doesn't get neglected and you can get your work done too. You can thus effectively juggle home responsibilities with your career. Working from home is definitely a viable option but it also needs a lot of hard work and discipline. You have to make a time schedule for yourself and stick to it. There will be a time frame of course for any job you take up and you have to fulfill that project within that time frame.

There are many things that can be done working from home. A few of them is listed below that will give you a general idea about the benefits of this concept.

    Baby-sitting
This is the most common and highly preferred job that Women & Men like doing. Since in today's competitive world both the parents have to work they need a secure place to leave behind their children who will take care of them and parents can also relax without being worried all the time. In this job you don't require any degree or qualifications. You only have to know how to take care of children. Parents are happy to pay handsome salary and you can also earn a lot without putting too much of an effort.

    Nursery
For those who have a garden or an open space at your disposal and are also interested in gardening can go for this method of earning money. If given proper time and efforts nursery business can flourish very well and you will earn handsomely. But just as all jobs establishing it will be a bit difficult but the end results are outstanding.

    Freelance
Freelance can be in different wings. Either you can be a freelance reporter or a freelance photographer. You can also do designing or be in the advertising field doing project on your own. Being independent and working independently will depend on your field of work and the availability of its worth in the market. If you like doing jewellery designing you can do that at home totally independently. You can also work on freelancing as a marketing executive working from home. Internet related work
This is a very vast field and here sky is the limit. All you need is a computer and Internet facility. Whatever field you are into work at home is perfect match in the software field. You can match your time according to your convenience and complete whatever projects you get. To learn more about how to work from home, contact us today on workfromhome.otr214425@gmail.comand our team will get you started on some excellent work from home projects.

    Diet food
Since now a days Women & Men are more conscious of the food that they eat hence they prefer to have homemade low cal food and if you can start supplying low cal food to various offices then it will be a very good source of income and not too much of efforts. You can hire a few ladies who will help you out and this can be a good business.

Thus think over this concept and go ahead.
